So We Meet Again

I could photograph this family all day long! They are so fun and full of life. Our shoots never have a dull moment. The jokes, laughing and love between them make for some of the best photos. I can just see little Victoria growing up to be such a wonderful, bright and spunky girl!

Growing packages are my favorites! I love following couples through such beautiful and personal moments in their lives. I have been with this family since their first maternity session together. From there I did Victoria's newborn session and now 6 months.

Baby V was such a beautiful baby but I was blown away to see her now. Her eyes are so big and blue and she is such a happy girl. Of course I wouldn't expect anything less coming from her mom and dad. :)

Sisters!

I always look forward to photographing Dani and her girls. I have had the pleasure of photographing her first maternity session, Kinley's newborn and up photos, Dani's second maternity shoot and now her new little one Caelyn. Oh and I should not forget to the mention Cypris the dog.

We went to my favorite play ground out at Calico Basin where the flowers are blooming and the grasses are as green as can be. Its so lush yet still has all those touches of the desert.

Power Play

I know I know the title is a bit cheesy but I couldn't help it! It isn't every day that you meet a professional hockey player! So me being the nerd that I am had to have a little play on words with their last name.

They first contacted me while they were moving from Italy back to the Unites States. Debbie was so excited to have her precious two month old photographed and quick before she grew anymore! They are only this little for such a short time. I was so happy to hear they were up for anything. I love photographing outdoors. There is something about all that fresh air and natural lighting that ads that something special to each photo.

It was a perfect and beautiful day at Floyd Lamb. I guess I left out the fact that it is peacock mating season :/ hahahahhaahh At least it made for an entertaining day. No, no that isn't a dying cat. That is a peacock noise.

Anyway, the Power's came with lots of ideas and patience. I think we were successful in capturing almost everything they were looking for. Sometimes it can be tricky when the baby isn't fully asleep but baby Nico just wanted to observe and be a part of it all. I don't blame her one bit! I was happy to capture her blue eyes. I mean she was such a sport! She even let daddy hold her in his stinky hockey gloves!

Overall we had fun, got the shots we wanted, had an amazing child wrangler/stylist known as Debbie's sister. (Thank you by the way for all the wonderful help) This family was so genuine and loving and seriously beautiful. Oh... and how could I forget their dog!! Was he even real? I think I came to the conclusion that he was battery operated since he never made noise let alone moved much. AWESOME! LOL

The Perfect Perry's

She's she's here!! Baby Madison is here :) She came a little early but perfect in every way. I am so glad we did mom's maternity shoot when we did! Just in time! I couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. I arrived to a very sleepy baby and a very welcoming family. I know that these early days are tender for any new mom and dad especially when letting someone in their house to take photos. I choose to not do the studio thing because I love keeping it comfortable and natural in the home. The parents don't have to travel, they won't  have to pack up a million things, be uncomfortable etc, etc. The home is where the heart is after all...:)

How beautiful she is...The ultimate girly girl! I am loving this beautiful photo.

I was so excited to be photographing the baby of a fire fighter. He brought home a few of his things to let me use. I couldn't resist to put the baby in the hat, she fit perfect. What a tiny thing :)

Not to sound creepy but I love getting to see people's houses and their creativity in the nursery. I was so thrilled to see this beautiful piece of furniture in the babies room. I new I had to place the baby in there, that she would look like a little doll, the perfect accessory to the great decor.

 I love adding special little touches to sweet pictures. I love how baby Madison is holding onto mommy and daddies rings while she sleeps to peacefully.

What can I say...One of my favs!

 This was probably the scariest photo I have ever taken. The famous baby on a dog...I somehow managed to get one and only one clear photo. Between the baby sliding and the dog moving, this was one brave momma! Of course the parents were on both sides and blankets were behind. Infant safety is always top priority.

I absolutely adore the Perry's! They are so kind and sweet and just love each other and their baby so much. Thank you for letting me in to your lives. I can't wait to do more photographs for you in the future.

The Girl Behind the Lens

It isn't very often that I get to play dress up and play in front of the camera. It is amazing how different the feeling is. I have been behind the camera for a while now and have become extremely comfortable being there too. For that reason, I feel photographers should sometimes be the subject for a change. It really is a learning tool to put yourself in your may feel. Becoming the subject on occasion has really helped me to understand how to get my client's full potential during our session.

My friend Heather K and I decided to go out to a location to scout out potential shooting spots. We decided to bring some cute shoes just in case we wanted to play model for a minute. LOL I really had no intentions of doing it but when we got there the only way to determine if the spot worked or not was to put someone in it. {insert reluctant photographer here} Heather wanted to work on her photography skills, therefore, I was the model. Oh boy! LOL Good thing I kind of wore a cute outfit and brought great shoes!   SAVED! Anyway, we ended up finding dome pretty awesome spots to shoot. We got to practice posing, lighting, locations, and client and photographer relationships. What a fun and productive day! Of course we ended  the day at a lovely little Mexican restaurant laughing over a  few cocktails :)

So I thought I would share what my wonderful friend Heather came up with that day. Also, now I am getting a taste of what it is like to "make the blog" Hahahahahah (My clients are always asking, "Are we gonna make...the blog?!" And yes!!! Everyone makes the blog! Wahoo!
