When it Rains, We Shoot!
It was a rainy boring evening in my house. My girls were restless and I was frantically trying to find something to do before my husband threw his back out from to many piggy back rides around the house. Being that I just received a lovely 50x50 soft box, I set up my little pretend studio in my front room. I lugged out the fabric backdrops that I use for newborns, my scarves, wraps and headbands and let the girls pick out their photoshoot attire. After a few lighting adjustments and hair fixes we were ready to play! I used my 85mm and 50x50 soft box with speed light. I thumb tacked the cloth to the wall and had a very dark room since it was night time. I wanted a dreamy/dramatic feel. I did little adjustments to the lighting in Light Room as there was already a natural vignette and dark tone. I just tightened things up and added a matte finish to them. My 2 year old (who has graced the pages of Pedi Ped) is not into posing these days..as most two year olds are not. For these I new I was not going to get a good mood so I tried to capture the in-between phases where she was giving me so much tude that it turned into a great look. My 5 year old was ready to work it. I gave her little direction and she took it like it a pro. She even threw her arms up like she was on some editorial shoot with vogue lol . Well here are the results of our fun photoshoot. Hope you enjoy what a "photogomom" does for fun.
